Cool Coat Thermal Clear Finish Coating

Cool Coat ™ is a tint-able acrylic elastomeric coating that insulates horizontal and vertical surfaces from moisture and reduces surface heat. Cool Coat ™ flexes when surfaces expand and contract, preventing prevents ruptures and cracks that result from temperature changes. Cool Coat™ works on block, brick, stucco, concrete, wood, metal, and EFIS surfaces.

How to Use

1) Prepare Surface

To apply, surface moisture content must be less than 25% as measured with an electronic moisture meter. Surfaces must be free of dirt, grime, efflorescence, lime run, construction debris, form oils and release agents, chalked materials, loose and peeling paint, mold, mildew, etc. All cracks should be pointed or caulked.

Do not apply if rain, snow, or temperatures below 40°F are expected within 48 hours. Do not apply if relative humidity is greater than 80%.

2) Prepare Product

Stir Cool Coat™ thoroughly before application. If solution becomes too thick to spray, add 1 quart of water per 5 gallons of solution.

2) Apply Cool Coat

SPRAY: Angle spray tip above surface apply Cool Coat™ using a crosshatch spray pattern. Angle the spray tip above surface to allow coating to build proper thickness. Back-roll materials into surface to create a uniform and pinhole free surface film.
ROLLER: Apply 2 coats of Cool Coat™ to surfaces at the recommend coverage rate. Wait approximately 4 hours before applying a second coat.

3) Let Dry

Coating should dry to 6 mils on a smooth surface and 9 mils DFT on a textured surface. Surface will be dry to the touch in 2 hours. Full chemical cure takes 3-4 weeks.
